1.1 Introduction
Hey guys and welcome to the Environment Concept Art For Games. My name is Jonathan Lam with Tuts+, and I've been working as a concept artist and designer at the Indy Game Company at Turner Studios. My latest work includes the Kickstarter funded game called Eminence: Xander's Tales. In this course, I'll be going through my methods and thoughts when creating landscapes and environment concept arts. When creating a painting. It is our job as concept artists to not only create a beautiful looking scenery. But to carefully pick up and enhance the subject matters which are most important to the story. It will be our task to guide the viewer through your world and to see what you see to lead the visitor through your fantasy domain. Some of the major topics that we we'll be discussing in this course will include, how to paint depth through value studies. How to create interesting compositions. Implementing textures to our painting. And tips and tricks on lighting and color. By the end of the course, you'll have learnt a solid foundation on how to create professional environment concept art for games. In Adobe Photoshop. So let's go ahead and get started by moving on to the first chapter.
