5.1 Conclusion
Hello and welcome back to Fantasy Digital Portraits. My name is Melody Nieves and I certainly hope you've enjoyed voyaging along this magical journey in creating your own fantasy digital art. Since this is the last chapter of this course, let's go over a recap of everything we've learned. Trust me, the hardest step for any artist is simply trying. But knowing where to start seems even harder. In chapter two, we tackle this process head on by developing two strong concepts for our fantasy digital portraits. Then we match those concept with photo manipulations that could tell us the story even further by showcasing our ideas and a more literal way. These early brainstorming sessions prepared us for what we needed to expect in chapters three and four as we dove right into the painting process. First, we looked at a fantasy portrait of a fierce warrior like character with intense lighting and mysterious smoke details. Then, we moved on to our second fantasy portrait with a powerful female character drowning in the flowy details of her long, elegant hair. With all the tips and techniques you've learned along the way, I hope you've been able to add a few new methods to your digital painting arsenal. My main focus is to always break down the process in a way that shows you that you can create beautiful work by following these simple steps. Start with the cleanest line art possible before moving on to thumbnails. Thumbnails allow you to test drive your concept so take advantage of the things you can learn to do and not to do, during this step. Then follow up with your painting, creating organized base layers before moving on to shadows and highlights. This formula of painting works for me every time. And I hope you find success with it, too. This last chapter concludes this course.
