1.1 Introduction
Sometimes you have to create a little design, a super cool icon, or custom text. But somehow, it is just a little bit flat. It looks flat, and it looks maybe a little bit cold. So, what can you add to give a little bit of life to your creations? It's simple. Let's use some textures. They are all around us, from nature to manmade textures. And they can give your artwork the extra pop it needs. In this course I would like to show you how you can create your own textures here in Adobe Illustrator, simply by digging a little bit deeper into the tools of Illustrator. From snake skin to jeans, from grass to leather, and then maybe some metal textures as well. Those custom textures can make your designs just pop on the screen or paper. There are a variety of ways to create them, add them, and even manipulate textures in Adobe Illustrator. It is really a lot of fun to use textures in your designs, and if you make them yourself, it adds a piece of your personality to it. So, let's start right into my favorite software and let's learn how to make those custom textures.
