How to Set Up Illustrator for Isometric Text Effects
2. Setting Up Our Project
First things first, we'll walk through creating a new document, in this lesson. Tune in to get started with the basics for this project in Adobe Illustrator.



You're also going to need to choose a font for your isometric text effect design. We'll walk through installing a new font for our project in this lesson. Here's the font we'll use in this course:

3. Setting Up the Isometric Grid
So how do we create an isometric grid in Illustrator? It's not as complicated as you might think. In this lesson, we'll walk through setting one up in our workspace, step by step.

4. Making the Text Isometric
Next, it's time to start working with our text. Remember, you can use any font you prefer for this process, but we'll be using the sans serif font Indigo.

How to Design 3D Isometric Text Effects in Illustrator
5. Adding Layers and Colour
In this lesson, we'll experiment with layers, color, and other tools we can use to give our isometric text depth. Effects like the 3D Extrude and Bevel Options can help us more easily achieve more complicated effects.



Using layers, we can Duplicate and Arrange our content to create a colorful effect, packed with visible depth. Take a look at the difference these techniques can make.






6. Adding Shadows
A change in color here creates an interesting sense of depth, but let's push it further. In this next lesson, we'll add shadows to our work to bring the aesthetic together. There's a ton you can achieve with gradients in Adobe Illustrator, and we'll explore just that.
