You'll learn how to set up guides in InDesign, place and arrange photos, and how to work with patterns to make an eye-catching result.

What Is a Tri-Fold Brochure?

Before we jump into the tutorial, you're probably wondering, "What is a tri-fold brochure?" A tri-fold brochure is one of the most popular formats for advertisements and informational materials. A tri-fold brochure is a three-part design that folds in on itself. The content can be printed on one side, but it's usually displayed on both sides. Many professionals, from building contractors and car dealerships to photographers and college recruiters, use this format to provide information about their products and services.

If you don't have time to follow this tutorial, check out this Lynielle Collection Trifold Fashion Brochure available on Envato Elements. Present your latest fashions in this well-designed and unique fashion brochure.

Now that you understand what a tri-fold brochure is, let's look at how to make a tri-fold brochure. Start with a standard 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper in horizontal orientation. Fold it in thirds, creating three panels that fold into themselves. You are now ready to start designing your tri-fold brochure!

2. How to Place Photos and Arrange Text in a Fashion Tri-Fold Brochure

Step 1

Open the portrait of laughing female model in Adobe Photoshop. Convert the image to CMYK by going to Image > Mode > CMYK Color. Select OK if a warning message appears. Go to Image > Image Size. Change the Resolution to 300 and make sure Resample is unchecked. Save the file as a TIFF on your desktop. Follow the same steps for all the other model and product photos except for the heel boot photo. We will save that one differently in future steps.
