What You'll Need

To recreate the sweatshirt mockup above, you will need the following resources:

1. How to Start Creating a Sweatshirt Mockup Template

In this section, we are going to start creating the Photoshop sweatshirt template. First, we need a sweatshirt 3D model—I'll use Men Round Neck Sweatshirt from Envato Elements.

2. How to Do a Sweatshirt Mockup From the Front Perspective

Step 1

In this section, we are going to create a sweatshirt design mockup from the front perspective. Click on the View 360 Render to adjust the perspective to the front, set Download as to PSD, and choose Download this Angle.

Step 2

Now we have our 3D model ready. Go to File > Open, choose the PSD file that we have just downloaded, and click Open. Then, hide the Shadows layer.

Step 3

Select the Subject [Flat] layer, set the foreground color to #ff0000, choose the Rectangle Tool (U), click inside the canvas, and drag to create a new rectangle shape layer in a size that covers the front of the sweatshirt.

Step 7

Double-click on this layer thumbnail, and in the newly opened file, hide the Rectangle 1 layer. Then, go to File > Open, select the PSD design file from the link and choose Open. In the newly opened file, select and open the White folder, hide the Pattern Overlay effect from all the layers, Right-click on this folder, and choose Convert to Smart Object. After that, drag the design to the smart object file, and transform and position it as shown below:

Step 8

Now go to File > Save to save the changes, and close this file. Then, return to the mockup file, select the Rectangle 1 layer, and name it Design. Next, Right-click on this layer and choose Yellow to mark it with a yellow color so it's easier to find as it's the main layer for the mockup.

Step 9

We need to displace the design over the sweatshirt to make it look more realistic, so we need to create a displacement map. Go to Image > Duplicate to duplicate this file, and in the newly opened file, hide the Design layer and show the Depth folder. Then, select the main folder, and press Control-Alt-Shift-E on your keyboard to make a screenshot.

Step 10

Now go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and set the Radius to 5 px. Then, go to Image > Mode and change the Mode to 8 Bits/Channel. Next, go to File > Save As to save the file as a PSD, and close it.

Step 11

Return to the mockup file, select the Design layer, go to Filter > Distort Displace, and set the Horizontal and Vertical Scale to 25, Displacement Map to Stretch To Fit, and Undefined Areas to Repeat Edge Pixels. When asked to choose the displacement map, select the PSD file that we have previously saved.
