How to Duplicate an Artboard in Illustrator

Method #1

To duplicate an artboard in Illustrator, first you need to select it. You can either do it by pressing the Document Setup button from the control panel and then the Edit Artboards button, or much easier, by using the Artboard Tool. Simply select it from your toolbar or use the Shift-O keyboard shortcut.

Once your artboard is selected, remember to hold down the Alt key and just click and drag the artboard to add a copy. Also, holding down the Shift key will constrain the movement of your copy.

Method #2

Alternatively, you can duplicate artboards in Illustrator using the classic copy and paste commands. Make sure that your artboard is selected and press Control-C to copy it, and then Control-V to paste the copy.

If you copy an artboard in Illustrator and the copy is blank, then you need to have a look at the control panel and make sure that the Move/Copy Artwork with Artboard button is checked.
