How to Edit Text in Photoshop

Step 1

Editing text in Photoshop is easy. First, open your existing file. In this case, we have a wedding invitation. 

Select the Type Tool in the left toolbar.

Step 2

Click on the text you want to change. The text will become underlined, and a blinking cursor will appear. 

You can click and drag to select the text. Alternatively, you can double-click to select all text on a single line, or triple-click to select all text if there are multiple lines.

Step 3 

To replace the text, type in the new text while the old text is selected.

To change the text color, select the text and choose a color from the Color Picker found in the upper options bar.

Step 5

You can also change the text Size and Font Face using the upper options bar. 

Once you are happy with the changes, press the Check Mark in the upper options bar to confirm all changes. To undo all changes, press the crossed-out circle icon.

Step 6 

If you want to move the text around, change to the Move Tool, found in the left toolbar. Click and drag the text to reposition it.
