1. How Import a Color Palette in Procreate

Step 1

Open up the Palettes menu by tapping on the circular swatch icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2

Tap on the + icon in the top right corner of the Palettes menu. This will reveal a drop-down list of options. In this tutorial, we are looking at importing downloaded Procreate color palettes, so you will need to select the New from file option.

Alternatively, the New from camera option creates a palette from a photograph you have just taken, and the New from photos option creates a palette from an existing photograph in your camera roll.

Step 3

Locate your chosen palette within your files menu, and tap on it to import.

The palette I'm using is part of this set of color palettes for Procreate, downloaded from Envato Elements.

Step 4

Your palette should now appear at the top of your Palettes list. Tap on any swatch within the palette to select it as your current palette.

Step 5

The palette should now appear at the bottom of every section of the Colors menu. To use your palette, simply tap on any swatch within it to set that as your active color.

You can then add these colors to your drawing to create the perfect color palettes for Procreate!

2. How to Add a Color to a Palette in Procreate

Step 1

To add a new color to a palette, first you need to select your chosen color so that it appears as the circular swatch in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2

Then, all you need to do is tap within any empty square in your palette, and your selected color will appear as a saved swatch.
