How to Change the Opacity of a Layer in Procreate

This first method is the easiest way to change the Procreate layer opacity.
Step 1
Open your file in your Procreate canvas.
Step 2
Open the Layers panel. Now, double-tap on the image layer where you want to change the opacity.



Step 3
You'll notice an Opacity Slider at the top set to 100%; this will allow you to change the opacity of your layer in Procreate.



Step 4
Drag to the left to decrease the opacity and to the right to increase the opacity. Adjust it to your liking.

How to Make a Layer Transparent in Procreate: Method #2
There's another way to change the layer opacity in Procreate. This method may be helpful if you're using Blend Modes (which we'll go into later).
Let's go through this second method to change the opacity of a layer in Procreate:
Step 1
Open the Layers panel.
Step 2
Tap the N on the desired layer to open the Blend Modes Menu.



By default, Normal mode will always be active and is shown by the letter N.
The Blend Modes Menu allows you to change the color intensity, brightness, and darkness in your images. The Blend Modes Menu also allows you to change the opacity of a layer in Procreate.
Step 3
When you open the Blend Modes Menu, you'll see an Opacity Slider. Drag the slider to the left to decrease the opacity and to the right to increase the opacity. Adjust this setting to your liking.
