Illustrator in 60 Seconds: Color Swatches
Want to create and export custom Color Swatches but don't know how? Well, follow the steps presented in this little tutorial and you'll be able to master it in no time!
How to Create Color Swatches in Adobe Illustrator
By default, Illustrator comes with a couple of predefined Color Swatches but you can also create your own.
If your color sources are vector shapes, select the one that you want to use as a swatch and then go to the Swatch panel and click on the New Color Group button. Name your Color Group. Once you click on OK, your Color Group containing the Color Swatches will be added to your panel.
If your color sources are scanned or web images, you will need to individually pick each color using the Eyedropper Tool, and then add them to the Swatch panel using the New Swatch button.
To export your swatches, first remove all the ones that you don't need. Then go to the Swatch panel's Down-Facing Arrow and click on Save Swatch Library as ASE.
