Assets You Will Need
1. How to Prep Photos for Print in Photoshop
Step 1
Open the Couple at the spa photo in Photoshop. Go to Image > Mode > CMYK Color and convert the image to CMYK for printing. The image is already set to 300 dpi. Now we will save the file as a Tiff. File > Save As > couple-at-the-spa.tif

Step 2
Open the Bride photo in Photoshop and convert the image to CMYK. Next, go to Image > Image Size. Type 300 for the Resolution and uncheck Resample. Select OK. Save this file as a Tiff.

2. How to Create a Day Spa Menu Template in InDesign
Step 1
Open InDesign and create a New Document, 8.5 x 11 in, 0.5 in Margins, and 0.125 in Bleed.

Step 2
Select the Rectangle Tool (M) and make a rectangle at the top of the flyer. The size of my rectangle is 8.7431(w) x 2.6885(h) in.

Step 3
File > Place or Command-D the Couple at the Spa photo with the rectangle still selected.

Step 4
Make another rectangle the same size as the Couple at the Spa photo. Create a new swatch in the Swatches panel C98 M100 Y50 K19. Add a Gradient Feather (Object > Effects > Gradient Feather) to this rectangle.

Step 5
Create another rectangle with the Rectangle Tool (M) below the header photo. The size of my rectangle is 4.8332 x 2.025 in. Place (Command-D) the Bride photo within this rectangle. Make another rectangle and apply the same purple Gradient Feather effect we previously used.

3. How to Create a Ribbon in InDesign
Step 1
Create two new swatches C39 M44 Y100 K32 and C39 M44 Y100 K0. Create two rectangles using the Rectangle Tool (M): 5.955 x 0.3216 in and 3.4736 x 0.3216 in. Select the Gradient panel and use the two swatches we created to make a linear gradient.

Step 2
Select the Pen Tool (P) and connect both rectangles and change the color to purple (C98 M100 Y50 K59).

4. How to Add Text and Vectors to a Salon Menu in InDesign
Step 1
Grab the Type Tool (T) and type out "Serenity" using the Resillia 56 pt font. Change the color of text to C39 M44 Y100 K0. Make another text frame for "Salon & Spa" and "Where Rest & Relaxation Awaits" using these settings:
- Salon & Spa: Roundkey Bold, 12pt, Paper swatch
- Where Rest & Relaxation Awaits: Roundkey Light Oblique, 15pt, Paper swatch

Step 2
Open the 11 Unalome & Lotus Sacred symbols in Illustrator and copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) the lotus icon into InDesign. Change the color of this icon to Paper.

Step 3
Select the Rectangle Tool (M) and cover the background using the 6% Tint Black swatch. Send the background to the back of the flyer using right-click > Arrange > Send to Back.

Step 4
Copy the lotus icon and paste it on the flyer. Increase the size of the icon to 200% and change the color to Paper. Apply a Gradient Feather to this icon.

Step 5
Copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) the Serenity logo to go underneath the ribbon. Select the Type Tool (T) and type a small description of your business. Use Roundkey Light and Light Oblique, 12 pt, and C98 M100 Y50 K19.

Step 6
Select the Rectangle Tool (M) and create three boxes using the Paper swatch. Make the size of your boxes 1.6861 x 1.6431 in. Apply a Gradient Feather to these boxes (Linear 90°).
Select the Type Tool (T) and create three text boxes and type three features of your business. Use these settings:
- Headline: Roundkey Bold, 12pt, C98 M100 Y50 K59
- Copy: Roundkey Light, 12pt, C98 M100 Y50 K19

Step 7
With the Type Tool (T) still selected, type the number "25". Make sure the Fill is set to None and set the 1 pt Stroke to C39 M44 Y100 K0. Also, use Roundkey Bold 50 pt for the font. Do the same with the dollar sign.
Select the Ellipse Tool (L) and make a circle. Use the swatch C98 M100 Y50 K59 and a 1 pt Solid Stroke. Use the Pen Tool (P) and make an hour and minute hand using the same purple Swatch and a 2 pt Solid Stroke.

Step 8
Now let's create some purple and gold accents. Using the Pen Tool (P), make a straight line underneath each of the three features and a vertical line next to our Bride image. Use a 3 pt Solid Stroke and Purple and Gold swatches.

Step 9
Using the Type Tool (T), create additional text frames over the Bride image and to the right of this image. Fill these text frames with a testimonial and business promotion using these settings:
- Business promotion: Roundkey Bold & Light Oblique, 12pt, Paper swatch
- Testimonial: Roundkey Bold & Light Oblique, 13pt & 16pt, C39 M44 Y100 K0 & C98 M100 Y50 K19

Step 10
Add three more boxes using the Rectangle Tool (M). Apply a Gradient Feather Linear 90° effect. Next, add more information for your salon & spa packages along with your domain, using the Roundkey font.

Step 11
Copy (Command-C) and paste (Command-V) three icons from the Unalome & Lotus Sacred Symbols vector file and place them above each package. Apply a Gradient Feather Linear -90° effect to these icons.
Select the Rectangle Tool (M) and make small dividers underneath each price. Use the gold swatch C39 M44 Y100 K0 for the Fill. Apply a Drop Shadow. And that's the last step! After you finish adding the text and finishing touches, you can proceed to save your finished salon menu PDF file.
