In this two part tutorial, Joe Lilli will show you how to make a 3D extruded logo in Cinema 4D (R12) that smashes up through the floor using dynamics. He'll also cover texturing, lighting, animating and rendering for later compositing in After Effects over at Aetuts+.

Sign upJoe Lilli is a computer graphics artist whose diverse skills include interactive design, motion graphics, compositing, visual effects, and 3D for television, film, and the web.
After graduating from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2004 with a degree in Visual Effects and 3D Animation, Joe headed east to New York to work on the 3D animated feature Ice Age 2: The Meltdown for Blue Sky Studios.
Since relocating to Los Angeles, he's created stereoscopic 3D particle effects for a LACMA spot at Mob Scene, visual effects at Encore for network and cable shows including 90210, Big Love, Castle, The Closer, NCIS, Raising Hope, and Weeds, as well as numerous theatrical trailers at Buddha Jones and Mojo including Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, The Muppets, Rock of Ages, and The Thing.
He joined Buster in the fall of 2011 and has since worked on a rebrand for Fox Movie Channel, an NBC 2012 Olympics promo, and an award-winning video game trailer for Ubisoft's Just Dance 4.
His most recent projects include promos for Arsenio Hall's new talk show and Oprah Winfrey's OWN network branding package.
He is currently Senior Animator at Buster in Los Angeles.
When he's not creating motion graphics, Joe enjoys spending time outdoors on the beach and in the mountains of So Cal with his wife and baby boy.
