1.3 The Seven Stages of Action
In his book, “The Design of Everyday Things” Don Norman outlines his seven stages of action, they apply almost universally to software, hardware and any process that involved someone making an action. They are as follows. 1. Forming the goal 2. Forming the intention 3. Specifying an action 4. Executing the action 5. Perceiving the state of the world 6. Interpreting the state of the world 7. Evaluating the outcome. Check against these stages of action when your building your Photoshop docs and creating websites and apps. They’ll make you a better designer.
