5.4 How to Change the Logo & Text
Hi everyone and welcome back to create a modern Glitch Animation in After Effects. In this lesson, we'll learn how we can change the logo and the text of our animation. So now that you're happy with the animation and it's completed, and you're happy with the way it looks, what happens if you now decide that you wanted the exact same animation but with a different text? Or what if you sent the animation to your client and they decided they wanted the logo to be changed? Do you have to start from the beginning again? Well, not necessarily. So let's go ahead and double-click on the Glitch comp, which is here, And bring it back up again. Now if you take a look at our composition here, you've got Title 02 and Title 01. Now these of the things that we want to change in order to change the text and the logo of our animation. So Title 01 represents the text, yep, and the Title 02 represents the logo. So let's go ahead and change the text first, so let's go ahead and double-click on Title 01. And changing the text is very simple. All we have to do is select the text, double-click on that, and we can easily change the text by typing on our keyboard. So we can change this from Glitch Effect to Glitch Animation. And by changing the text in Title 01, it will reflect in our animation. So just going back to final Glitch Animation, if we scrap back to the beginning, you can see that it starts off with Glitch Animation now instead of Glitch Effect, cool. So, now what if we wanted to change the logo? Now to change the logo, we need to go back into the Project tab here. Go to Glitch Effects. Now Glitch Effect, the logo is inside our Title 02. Now if we double-click on Title 02, you'll see that logo game.png is the image sourced for the logo. Now in order to change the logo, go back to Project, find the logo_game.png or whatever the file name is, right-click and then choose Replace Footage, and then choose File. And then all we have to do here is change the file. So select a new file for it to be replaced, which is Logo Robot, select Import. And you'll see straight away the image has changed from the previous logo to the new logo. And if we go back to our final Glitch Animation, you'll see that this has been reflected in the final animation as well. Now you'll see here that depending on the type of logo or the shape of the logo, you may need to adjust it slightly. So let's go ahead and go back into Title 02, select the Selection tool and now let's go ahead and transform this logo and move its position up slightly. So let's go ahead and move it up so that it doesn't overlap with the reflection. So that's too far up, so let's move it down slightly. And let's go ahead and test it, cool. So now, if we click on the Play button here and preview our animation, we've changed the text and now we've also changed the logo, excellent! So that's it for this video. In the next video, we'll learn how to render your animation. See you all there.
